RED, THE B-SIDE OF HUMAN BEING

Red tells the story of Julia, a young witness to a bloody murder known as The Wolf Crime. The event has a great media impact and Alice, a TV reporter, sees a great opportunity proposing an interview to Julia.
Immersed in the vision of a perverse reality, the nature of Red Riding Hood be will reveal savage and brutal.

Red is a story for adults that explores the B side of the human being through the classic of Perrault, Little Red Riding Hood.
'My, my, what big eyes you have...'

The story is told in several voices: Julia and Alice, who take the place of narrators of the story, Wolf, who speaks of the purposes of the protagonist, and the policeman that helps us as a nexus with the social vision of the events. These are the three voices of the classical tragedy: protagonist, antagonist and choir.

Red, does not speak of a modernized and chaotic Riding Hood, but the essence of the fascination of the tale, which is omnipresent in its cruelty.
We're not talking about a deformed story or a free review more. Red is a reminder of the B-side of the human being, of the most dark and evil part, and how that evil instinct can get to be as ordinary that shown in daily routines with complete impunity.
Because we are, indeed, the great architects of cruelty.

REVIEW

Quien se acerque a “Red” para mirar una historia clásica estará equivocado. Porque eso, la historia, sufre una deliberada e intrigante fragmentación temporal, en lo que constituye su principal atractivo, es decir “cómo” está contada. Lo importante es “el cómo” y no “el qué”, ya nos lo enseñó Hitchcock con su famoso McGuffin.

La cinta supone una oscura reinterpretación del sangriento cuento de Caperucita y de su supuesta inocencia. Una estética que podríamos denominar de cuento gótico-policiaco envuelve a la obra, aunque en la forma de contar se percibe el aroma de películas ya emblemáticas como “Rec” o “El misterio de la bruja de Blair” en ese estilo de terror “en vivo y en directo” y lo subliminal de las imágenes.

Buenas interpretaciones, sobre todo la de esa reportera que habla con la enigmática Caperucita. Otro punto a destacar es la música, muy en la línea de las producciones de terror juveniles. Aunque aquí no se van a encontrar con una película de terror juvenil al uso, sino más bien con un thriller dotado con tintes de terror psicológico, al que si le cabe imputar demasiada influencia del videoclip en lo visual.

En definitiva a destacar las buenas intenciones de un equipo joven que consigue crear una lograda atmósfera de misterio, con buen pulso y aliento narrativo.
